The Documentary Archive of the Museum's Study Center
It systematically compiles all the documentation gathered over the years of the Museum's operation, thanks to an exhaustive search through newspaper archives and local, regional, national, and international archives. It primarily contains copies of the scarce documentation that has survived from the Maeztu family, as well as a significant selection of press articles from the time, through which one can trace the life and artistic journey of Gustavo de Maeztu.
So far, the archive mainly contains documentation about the Alavese painter, although there are plans to expand it over time to include other members of the Maeztu family, especially Ramiro – an important thinker and journalist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries – and María – a defender of women's rights and founder of the Residencia de Señoritas in Madrid.
This archive is open to both researchers and the general public and can be freely accessed without cost. To do so, it is necessary to contact the Museum's Management. Consultation hours are Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
