Parece ser que en la Edad Media, all\u00ed donde se alzaba una fortificaci\u00f3n militar, se establec\u00eda un mercado. El Museo Gustavo de Maeztu de Estella-Lizarra organiza durante tres fines de semana un taller impartido por el profesor em\u00e9rito de la UPNA Juan Carrasco P\u00e9rez<\/strong>, con el t\u00edtulo El mercado medieval de Estella (1000-1425). Fortalezas y mercados<\/i>. El curso, de entrada libre<\/strong>, se desarrollar\u00e1 en tres sesiones los d\u00edas 10, 17 y 24 de febrero a las 12.00 horas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

El mercado de la ciudad del Ega ha sido durante siglos punto de comercio y encuentro para los pueblos de la comarca, una tradici\u00f3n que todav\u00eda hoy perdura. Anta\u00f1o era, adem\u00e1s, una referencia en cuanto a la venta de pa\u00f1os debido a los tintes textiles que se extra\u00edan de los zumaques.<\/p>\n

Juan Carrasco es catedr\u00e1tico y profesor em\u00e9rito de Historial Medieval de la Universidad P\u00fablica de Navarra. Gran conocedor de la historia de Estella y de la huella de los jud\u00edos en Navarra, ha formado parte durante a\u00f1os de la Semana de Estudios Medievales<\/strong> como subdirector y lo sigue haciendo como conferenciante. Uno de los temas de investigaci\u00f3n al que se ha dedicado durante su vida profesional es el de los mercados y el sistema monetario en el Medievo.<\/p>\n
